“Climate Debt”

I found an article on NYTimes.com which stated that some of the developing counties believe that the developed countries and worlds rich owe them a “climate debt”. I found this to be very interesting and had me thinking is the argument causable. The developing countries do suffer climate changes just as we have, but we have put out more harmful environmental gasses into the atmosphere. But also if we do pay these “debts” wouldn’t that help advance these countries to where we are and they would become just as guilty as us. Not only have we become aware of these issues but I believe we are trying to fix it by creating new ways and new technology less harmful and more helpful to the environment.
